Breaking the chains of low self esteem

There stands a man at the end road near the shadow of the tree, unable to decide whether to take up the job he has been offered or to join his father’s family business. He reckons the nights he spent preparing for the IAS exams, skipping all the celebrations and the night outs but now he stands on the verge of giving up his dream career for the sake of his family well-being .

Do you recognize this man? Well most of us won’t but if we search hard , we  will find him in our self.

Even if we don’t share his life dilemma but aren’t we indecisive when we have to make major decisions. Always contemplating the negative consequences and predicting the wrong outcomes for the future.

Each of one us , at least once  would have shown all our perseverance and conviction towards the goal we desired, and what if an unfortunate hindrance comes our way, then? Few of us make the choice of overcoming the barriers and latter bunch may take the apprehensive approach .

 Which group would you identify yourself in? If you belong to 2nd category ,I’m sorry to declare you have very low self-esteem .You are the one who always try to seat at the last bench in the class , try to change directions when you see an acquaintance walking towards you and walk with stooped shoulders with averted eyes facing the ground.

If u recognized the above traits and have decided from tomorrow you will make difference in your outlook, prepare yourself for the change.

The first step involves getting yourself ready for your journey to self-confidence, think about your life so far ,and list the ten things you ‘ve achieved in an achievement log. Next, think about the things that are really important to you ,and what you want to achieve with your life. Goal setting  is the process you use to set yourself targets .At the next stage you need to start managing your mind .Learn to pick up and defeat the negative self-talk which can destroy your confidence. And the final part for the journey is make a clear and unequivocal promise to yourself that you are absolutely committed to your journey and that you will do all in your power to achieve it.
