How to Break Bad Habits.

Bad habits always interfere in our lives in many ways. They are one of the reasons we may not be able to achieve or accomplish our goals or aims. Our family, friends, relatives and, colleagues may get annoyed or irritated by our bad habits.

All of us have some or other bad habits. They may be smoking, procrastinating, gossiping, and, more dangerous, to be on drugs. Everyone wants to change these bad habits. It’s easier said than done. Sometime you may be successful in changing the bad habits but more often you might revert back to old ways. What is the reason that old habits die hard? And most importantly, how can we find a permanent solution to get rid of these bad habits?

Surprisingly, some bad habits are because of boredom, sadness, happiness etc. In the beginning, it might be in small doses but after that, it may take a giant leap and destroy your life. Habits, good or bad, are addictive. So why not inculcate good habits and live life peacefully.

It takes time to quit or leave bad habits. But it also needs continuous efforts from our side. Bad habits are all your creations. Nobody in the world can make you fall into bad habits without your permission. The best thing is not to fall into these bad habits. If you already have any bad habits, use your willpower and determination to come out of them.

Procrastination is an emotional reaction. This behavior can be changed by you and only YOU. Inculcate the qualities of being always organized. Procrastination is a lazy man’s friend. Learn and be determined to complete the task in hand on time. The old saying is worth remembering, ” kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so aab”.

Most of the bad habits are caused by stress, tension, and boredom. Bad habits like smoking, taking alcohol, taking drugs, may give you temporary or immediate relief. In long run, they will completely ruin you.

Plan how to come out of these bad habits. It may take time ( Rome was not built in a day).  But you have to at least take the first step towards getting rid of these bad habits.

Breaking bad habits also needs perseverance. Never quit the efforts. You might not have immediate success, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

The most important, visualize yourself succeeding. Whatever the bad habits that you are looking to break away from, visualize yourself crushing it, smiling and, enjoying your success and a NEW YOU.
