Relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts in Modern India

Swami Vivekananda is a great Indian saint who made India proud by spreading the noble thoughts of India all over the world. He inspired thousands of Indian youths through his words. His words are motivation for the youth of all times. In this essay I tried to express Swamiji’s relevance in Modern India

Money doesn’t pay, nor name; fame doesn’t pay, nor learning. It is life that pays; it is character that cleaves it’s way through adamantine walls of difficulties.

Relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts in Modern India is proved by just this thought of swamiji.

Swami Vivekananda is not just a man, a saint, a philosopher, he is a great leader, inspiration and motivation to the youth of the whole world. To the youth of India, there can be no better leader than Swami Vivekananda. So swamiji and his thoughts are relevant in the past, present and even in the future because Swamiji’s message in brief was “be and make”.

Today India is the nation of youth. India contains 60% of its population as youth. It is also called as the window of demographic features. Now the whole world looks into India with a great hope. The thoughts and life of Swami Vivekananda is a model to the developing India. He says whatever you think that you will be; if you think yourself weak, weak you will be, if you think yourself strong, strong you will be. India once was called as the weak nation , poor country now called as the developing country, a strong nation because of its youth power and it’s new projects of development.

It was words of Swami Vivekananda, Never say no, Never say I cannot for you are infinite. Even time and space are nothing compared to your nature. You can do anything, everything, you are Almighty.

This words should be recited in the minds of every young Indian. Today India needs a strong will power to achieve the goal of success.

Neither numbers, nor power, nor wealth, nor learning, not eloquence, nor anything else will prevail but purity, living the life – in one word anubhuthi , realization. If this message is understood, and followed by the politicians and beurocrats then we can think of corrupt free India.

As swamiji says,

India will be raised not with the power of flesh, but with the power of spirit; not with the flag of destruction, but with the flag of peace and love… One vision I see clear as life before me, that the ancient mother has awakened once more, sitting on the throne – rejuvenated, more glorious than ever. Proclaim Her to all the world with the voice of peace and benediction.

Let new India arise out of the peasant’s cottage, grasping the plough; out of the huts of the fisherman, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her spring from the grocer’s shop, from beside the oven of the fritter seller. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts and markets. Let her emerge from groves and forests, from hills and mountains.

Let this dream of Swamiji be the dream of every Indian.

Thank you
